What is the Electronic Prescription Service?
The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is a new NHS service that lets your GP practice send your prescription electronically to the pharmacy you choose to get your medicines or appliances from - without the need for paper in some cases.
How does the Electronic Prescription Service work?
- First, you must choose (or 'nominate’) a suitable and convenient pharmacy or appliance contractor to manage your electronic prescriptions. All our local pharmacies provide EPS
- Ask that pharmacy or dispensing appliance contractor to add your nomination for you.
- Alternatively you can ask us by completing and sending us the form below and we will add the nomination to your notes from our end
- You don’t need a computer to do this.
Can I change back again?
Yes you can. Just tell your pharmacist or us at any of our sites.
Is EPS safe, secure, and confidential?
Yes. Your electronic prescription will be seen by the same people in GP practices, pharmacies and NHS prescription payment and fraud agencies that see your paper prescription now.
